RIP my new SSTA baby :(

Long Story made short as I am too depressed to go through the pain yet again... but the wonderful SSTA baby I hatched on 5/9/08 (1/16 odds from double hets no less) drowned in its water dish on 5/11/08. I am assuming that 1/2 inch of water was too high in that particular dish that must have been too slick for it to get traction in and/or too high for it to get out of once it crawled into it. Needless to say, that was my prize hatchling so far this season and I am beyond words. I probably should have been more cautious when placing the water dish in its tub, but I have already beat myself up enough. Now I can only pray to hatch another from that group.

Thank you all for your heartfelt responses. I am starting to get past it and hope that I learned a valuable lesson from this tragic loss. I have been hatching babies like crazy since that happened, so it has been keeping my mind off of it.
