Ruby eyed Jungle Albino

I hatched out what appears to be a Jungle Albino from these two parents:

Is that normal? I've gotten some raptors and even a stripe from this pairing but I didn't think a jungle was possible with the patternless gene supposedly being recessive. I don't have pictures of the hatchling yet, I could take some tomorrow if needed.

I have also produced an albino jungle from two het Raptors...along with reverse stripes, and patternless Stripe Eclipses....You get a variable cornucopia of crazy cool geckos! I would love a ruby eyed non raptor albino...that would be sweet!

I think it is normal, as those are not exactly recessive traits. The "Patternless Stripe" gene/s "carry" the genes for all of the other types. Which makes for alot of cool variations!:)

that guy is so sweet. I love the dots.

I love them too. I was asking about the patterns on RAPTORS in another post but nobody knew what I was talking about. I still want to know if they can be passed on cuz so far all my RAPTOR hatchlings are patternless.

I was kinda caught off guard when she hatched out because so far I've gotten 100% RAPTORS. I thought all I would see is RAPTORS or APTORS.

Anyway heres the pic.

Huh? Are you sure I did not answer you in that thread? I thought I did, and answered your question.

You might have. I gave up on the thread after it looked like a lost cause. I'll have to go back and look. My mistake if you did Dan sometimes I forget about a thread after the first few replies.

where are the ruby eyes? is the other eye ruby then?

It hatched with one normal eye and one ruby eye. I really wasn't trying to photograph the eyes tho. I was just trying to get the body pattern in that pic. Now the red has faded however and it has some type of cloudy blueish grayish color. I wonder if it can even see.

No problem, it must have been awhile ago, I looked back a few pages and did not see it. I might not have, and had meant to, so now I`m thinking "maybe I did".:main_laugh:

Sounds like a "snake eye", some of them do not start out that way, and a part of the eye will change. This pic is snake eye. Some of them will have only small part of the eye like you described. The pic is more like 60-65% "eclipsed".

cool! i love snake eyes. :)

Do geckos that hatched with snake eyes that fade carry the red eye gene as if they had snake eyes or do they not carry this gene?

I believe that a snake eye is just a "Raptor", and that not all Raptors are solid eyed. I think the ones that start out as Raptors or snake eyes and fade away, are still Raptors or snake eyes.

that would be interesting to know as you could then buy a gecko who hatched with full eyes which faded to snake eyes or to normal albino eyes and still get the same hatchrate as you would of gotten if you bought a raptor with full ruby eyes
