On Tuesday I would have had Lana for 2weeks I believe.

On Monday of this week she ate close to 30 mealies that have been gutloaded with Oatmeal, Carrots and Potatoes, that one week after I received her. On Tuesday she had around 7, Weds 4 and Thurs 4. I was getting nervous because I didn't see any droppings anywhere! So today I woke up to see that Lana FINALLY used the bathroom while in her new tank! But there's a problem it runny!!! Not the firm little rod that she's suppose to be pooping, of course I'm worried.. When I first open the box I saw little poop rods in her deli dish that were normal but were kind of soft but I think it was due to the fact that there was a lot of humidity in the deli cup from the damp paper towel and the heat pack.

Here's a Picture! All those Mealies and that's all she dropped
Picture136.jpg

Tank Details.. As of right now
- 10 gallon tank.
- Paper Towel Substrate, which I changed completely and plan to change on a weekly basis. Now that I know where shes going to use the bathroom I left a little square piece of paper towel in that corner.
- 3hides.
- Water Dish
- Mealie Dish, with mealies dusted in Rephasy Calcium Plus.
- Cool Side: 70F.
- Warm Side: 90F. The past 2-days her temps have been dropping all the way down to 84-86F due to the fact that my building wasn't giving heat at night and it was pretty cold! But last night into today it was able to maintain 90F.

Note: I have a digital thermometer, rhethostat and ZooMed Undertank heater. I'm trying to follow the book the best I can!

Anyway why would her poop be runny?
- The problems with the temps on the warm side?
- The possible change in supplements?
- Could the mealworms have given her something?
- Is she still stressed?
- Can the Oatmeal in the gutload have just a LITTLE too much fiber?

And what can I do?

I dont think that qualifies as runny.... its more softy. Its more than likely just a change in her diet, or introduction to a diet. Their poo sometimes looks different depending on what they eat.

Ok I guess I have to take a chill pill and then wait awhile to panic. Can you imagine me with children? Lol

Thanks I wasn't sure what "runny" really was that's why I posted the picture incase before I gave out the wrong impression.

She's probably just still getting used to her new home. If it persists to the point where she begins to lose a considerable amount of weight then I would start to worry. Keep your eye on that. I don't suppose you have a kitchen scale? If you're going to breed you might want to invest in one. To seriously monitor their weight make sure it can weigh tenths of a gram. Don't stress just yet. Better safe than sorry though.

Thanks for the advice!

I don't plan to breed but I was looking into a scale anyway to see her progression. Hopefully I can get one by the end of the year. I'm glad to say she has a healthy appetite and in my eyes has gained a little weight. She's also become more active. So hopefully this just has to do with it still being a new environment and all.
