This may sem like a stupid question but can leos become sad or depressed or do they lack that emotion. I know it seems odd to ask but I just started thinking about as I watched my male watch me pull the female from his enclosure for a feeding.
I suppose it is possible for them to have feelings.
I have heard stories of geckos not eating if you take out their cage mate. They also will not eat with any other gecko in the cage, besided their old cage mate. So that proves that they can at least develop bonds with each other, which requires feelings.
I agree. Some female geckos will also only breed with a certain, specific male, and reject all others. Seems like they form bonds with certain ones.
We have a Mack Snow female that we have housed with a few different other geckos, but in the end, the only geckos she really enjoys to be around are her fellow Snow friends that she grew up with.
