So, I was going to post this whole thread about this lucky little gecko.........she hatched 5 days after her clutchmate; I had almost thrown the egg away!! I was so happy that I had waited.
Her tail was extra short, she was still attached to the umbilicus, and she was skinny; other than that, she looked great!! I cut her from her umbilical cord, housed her alone, gave her all the goods - a calcium dish, water dish, moist hide, mealworms in a short dish - and she was eating and pooping. Hurray!!
Then, when I went to clean tubs, poof!! She was just dead. She was about a week and a half old. It looked like she had laid down and not gotten up.
I've had other sad things happen as a breeder; this one just extra sucked because I thought she was lucky. Poop.
