....and living a better life. ;)

On Tuesday at 15:45 I quit smoking. I had been smoking for 21 years and it was about time I quit.

I went to AcuLaser. I was surprised at how easy it has been. I have not had any fits of needing a smoke or having any mood swings due to withdrawals. I do get a feeling of wanting to light up a cigarette maybe twice a day, but it's more out of needing something to do with my hands or it's at a time that I would normally being lighting up. Not a real need to light up. Then I just think "Oh that's right I don't smoke anymore." and the feeling goes away. There is no major effort at all to say to myself that I'm not going to smoke.

When I first decided to give this method a try I was skeptical as most would be. However I've had a handful of drivers that work for me who have used this treatment, all still not smoking over a year later. I've also noticed that I'm not trying to substitute food for the cigarettes as well. I'm actually not eating as much as I was when I was smoking.

Congratulations Fe! Can you elaborate on your experience when you have time. I'm wondering if it may be something that I could talk Keith into.

Mel,

This is the local place I went to aculasertreatment.com. They may be able to give you a listing of a place near you that does this treatment.

It takes about 45 min to do, no pain at all, and it's very relaxing.

The funny thing about it is you actually tend to forget that you were even a smoker most of the day. And when you do feel you want to light up it's not the smoking itself that you want, you want to light one and have it in your hand. Even then there is no restlessness that you get when you normally would crave a smoke, you just realize "Hey I haven't had one and I don't need one." The impulse is not strong at all.

This has actually been the least stressful week I've had since Spanky passed, even being that I've just quit smoking and all the problems that came up this week.

GOOD FOR YOU, Felicia. I really need to do that. Ugh...

Maybe Paul will be making a trip to OH in the next few months. It'd be worth it.

You should be able to find one of those lazer places close to you Paul. (I'm sure Fe wouldn't mind a visit though!) I have one that's walking distance from where I live.

LOL Paul there is no pain at all, all you feel is the preasure of the wand thingy up against your skin. It's applied to your ears, nose and forehead.

I cannot believe how effortless this has all been. Well worth the $225 spent!

Good for you Fel! I wish they had this around when I was quitting, it probably would have been a lot easier on me. Quitting cold turkey was HARD, but well worth the effort.

Fe, I am so glad to hear you stopped smoking! I quit for many years, and started back up again las February at the NARBC Show after I had just gotten out of the hospital and Glenn and I were having serious problems in our marriage. I looked for Aculaser here in my area, but couldn't find anything. It it just in Ohio?
