I'm getting sick and tired of studying and failing. I find it rather ridiculous that questions on tests and quizzes seem to contradict what the text says. I mean a random probability to me is the same thing as if a person picks any given cookie. But maybe I'm wrong. I read, take notes, study, practice, and understand the material, but seem to have a favorite grade of 60-75 on quizzes and 60-69 on texts. Rather sad huh? The whole situation is getting rather irritating. I'm about fed up. Especially if you ask a teacher for help and you get an email in return saying, um I don't offer the use of the program (the one that's packed with extra help and sample tests and quizzes) and maybe you can go to the book's publisher to find help. Otherwise you're on your own. Gee thanks...

Whatever looks like I'm taking statistics and maybe macroeconomics again next semester.

That stinks that your professor won't help you. Ask him if he can help you with basic concepts, maybe, not the book material specifically? Though it seems that he is taking test material directly from the book, in which case he really should give you help with it. Failing that, maybe he or the department head can get you a student tutor? Or from a student in your class that is doing really well?

I feel you pain, though- good luck!

Well, don't give up in school! We are in college and it sucks at times too! Matt's doing Aeronautical Engineering and I am going to be a Registered Dietician with a certificate in pediatrics. So we have some hard crap to deal with too! You're not alone...

I'm an Animal Sciences major. And the best way I found to cope with ridiculously hard subject was to (well accidently) become best friends with the smartest person in my major. One-on-one tutor sessions with another student in the class that understands the subject material is the best way to get through difficult classes. Not to mention, that it also helps the smart kid out to teach the subject (something about reinforcing learning).

PS - Wish I could help with stats and macro, but I'm pretty much useless there as well. But I did manage to pass macro, and I'm not require to take stats. So I'm sure you can manage it. YOU CAN DO IT!!! :D Good Luck!

I'm taking AP Biology now, equivalent to two semesters of biology at most schools. Sucks alot. Fortunately me I'm on the reverse. I don't understand the labs and some of the material, but I demolish tests and quizzes...

I remember AP Bio in high school. It wasn't bad, but I love science...

There's really not much math involved in statistics and macro, but ay... I'm usually good at math...

I'm already prepared to take stat over again.. Different teacher. I've got three weeks left of this semester though.

Oh, and I guess I should have mentioned it's online classes with Troy University's distance learning program. I'm not much of a go to class person, and my dad works for Troy so my tuition's discounted 75%. :) But either way, because it's online, it's kinda hard to befriend a student... :-/ I may invest in a tutor for statistics next semester though. My aunt know a lady who tutors the class for 20$ an hour.

AGAIN! the teacher has questions about chapters weren't read during the week in the quiz! Those questions that were in the chapters, really weren't. In the sense of equations, symbols, etc. I can't wait to give him his evaluation at the end of the semester! I'll fail in the mean time. :-(

When I took physics I only passed because I ended up researching what teacher was best to take the second or third time.

It also helps to know wether the teacher tests on the book or lecture. Typically they do one or the other.

Stats. was pretty hard though. I think I had an easier time in calc. Stats. was probably the second toughest class I took.
