Does anyone else seem to have this problem?

When I go to feed my geckos some roaches it seems like they will be interested in them when they are running or moving. but when they stay still they lose interest in them.

Today I went to feed my male and when he seen it looked very excited but it ran behind a rock and then he completely lost interest in it even when I put it infront of his face : /

I've been trying to break my male off the super worms so I can feed him roaches but I dont know how to keep his interest.

I put the superworms in a dish for him and he eats them, but when I put a roach in the dish for him he doesnt eat it at all, neither does my female but she eats the roaches when I put them infront of her face.

Anyone have any tips?

For some leos, if it isn't moving, it isn't food. One good thing about crickets is that they keep moving. The roaches are much quicker about finding a place to hide and not moving.

One thing I've tried with some success is to put a 2 pint tupperware type container on it's side in the tank, with the roaches in it, and a piece of eggcrate. Some roaches will run out, but most will go right back in. The leos can go right in and grab a snack. Once the leos learn the food is in there, they will get a bit aggressive about going in there and snatching even the ones that aren't so mobile. This is still a work in progress... I'm using lateralis which I've since decided are just too fast for my older leos; this arrangement gives them a better chance to catch dinner. Otherwise the roaches crawl into all the hides and have to be repeatedly shaken out.
