I was just wondering, is that normal? A local reptile expert at the pet store thinks he was severely underheated, and the evidence seems to support hat; he's climbing the walls and eating now. Is this ok, or should i still take him to the vet?

There was no need to start another thread when all the necessary information about your setup was in the other. A lot of things husbandry related need to be fixed immediately. For starters, the correct heat source and temperature gradient, thermometer that measures floor surface, substrate, food and supplement schedule. Fix these things and let us know how your gecko is doing.
