So you think like a 30 watt will bring my temps up to be perfect?
I'm honestly not sure. I've never dealt with anything that low-wattage. Unfortunately, heating is a lot of guess and check. Worst thing that would happen is it would be too much, and then you could use it another time (maybe for when you up the enclosure size). If you're not opposed to lights (which some people are, and that's cool), you could try just a regular light bulb. They put off some heat, but not a lot. Might be enough, since the heat will kind of be trapped in that area.

Well i'll pick up a CHE and see. I'm not against light, i just hear everyone says it messes with they're sleep, and they can see it or something?

At night, yes. I was thinking for during the day, but if you need it for both, I'd suggest the CHE route. That's what I use for my snake since she's albino and the light wouldn't be comfortable for her; I have it on 24/7.

Oh, I don't care. Its better that more chime in so I don't sound like a know it all :)

The way your making it sound, you actually are probably good. If your hitting 100 degrees on your floor surface you are fine if not a bit hot. In a 10 gallon, if you have a Uth, I really would not think you should need anymore heat. In my tank I removed the sand directly in the center of the tile and only left sand around the edges to hold the slate up. Sand is an insulator so it will not transfer the heat like direct heat to tile. Which is probably why your noticing a difference at the edge of the tile. I still say your probably good though. When my hot spots get close to 100, I change things. What type of infrared thermometer/temp gun do you have?

Right now my tank is hottest at 95 on my warm side and lowest at 70.5 at my cold side.

Does food dish placement matter?
I think those temps sound great. That way your gecko can choose the best place. :) Is that in a 10 gallon or a 20 long?

I don't think dish placement really matters. Just probably somewhere in the middle.
