Okay so I heard that some leos can develop pores and bulges pretty late so I waited a bit to take these pictures and ask for a identification. Its been half a year since we got what I thought was a male, but the only problem is I got him from my local reptile shop without a DOB, the first picture was the first day we got him, he had to be at least a month. So my leo is at least 7 months I would say. It looks like a female to me. Is there a chance it may still be a late bloomer?. I have a big 24x18 which im using for this current gecko, so if it is a female, I want to try and introduce my bell female on a close monitor.

The third picture looks like the pores may be developing some wax.
But I see no bulges.
I would say we need to wait an see!

Males do have bigger pores, but the gecko is still young. Look how small it is in the first picture.
Females dont have waxy pores, this one may. I would say its still too early to be 100% sure.

When do you think is a good enough time to wait?, at least a year?. I don't want to deal with the possible circumstance of it being a male. Don't want to stress out my other female, and I wouldn't have the heart to throw out a fertile egg(sounds lame yes I know).

The what?

Could be WAY off, but I read the males' tail shakes fast towards a female as a sign of mating when close in relation to a slow waving for aggression/fear. So I'm guessing introduce them in a neutral environment and see how the gecko we are questioning reacts?.

Me either. I was on a website just browsing and came across this "Many beginners think their gecko is being cute 'wagging his butt all over the cage'. In reality, he is staking out his territory.". I have heard this before, but I'm assuming this is in regards to adult males?, or do older juvies do this aswell?, because If so I have never seen my leo do that. Anyways though, I'm going to wait a bit more regardless now just to be sure, there's no rush, I appreciate the input from everyone :).

Hey Michelle the Wagners method is kinda an ovoscopy, but we have to use the light to see through the pelvic cavity of the gecko instead of the egg.
