Hey everyone,

One of my friends just got a leopard gecko in
mid november. The gecko keeps shaking her
whole body. She hasn't been eating very much either.
I don't know what to tell her. I really need some help.

Thanks,
~Holly~

Never heard this, but it could be its too cold? Well reference when I'm cold I shake, but don't know if this applies leopard geckos.

Hi Holly,

Sorry, I don't want to upset you, but I don't think it's the cold. Type "shaking" or "twitching" into the search field, and you'll get all kinds of links from previous threads about this topic, such as this one.

Seems to be fatal in the end, whatever it is. Well, it is not possible to diagnose your friend's pet from remote, and if the shaking hasn't gone away your friend should take it to a vet. Whether s/he can help is the question, but give it a chance.

Good luck to your friend's gecko. Keep us posted what has become of her.
Keeping my fingers crossed,

Chrissy

It could be the beginning of MBD. Make sure the gecko is getting plenty of calcium. It wouldn't hurt to have a vet take a look at the gecko as well.

I have seen one of my males do this, only once. I know he is getting
enough calcium, and he will not lick it from a bowl.
I think it had something to do with stress, a nervous reaction.
When it happened, there was a cricket in there, and he didn't seem to
pleased about that (or about my finger in there).
I haven't seen it since.
