my gecko has shed inside the eye, i always drip water into the eye to moisten it. I tried using wet q-tips to try and take the shed out but its too big to go in the eye.:main_no: what do i do?
How long has it been stuck? A syringe (without needle) filled with sterile water or a bottle of saline solution works well for flushing it out. You can usually get enough pressure to loosen the shed without hurting them. If that doesn't work you may have to try the wet q-tip again and very gently open the eyelids as you wipe the eye out. You just have to be very careful not to scratch the eyeball.
it doesnt matter how much your gecko squirms or hates it, you gotta get the shed out so it doesnt get worse and turn into an infection. its tough but you'll be able to get it with some persistence, good luck.
