okay so first off ill fill out that questionarre form thing:
About your leo:
- Sex - Female
- Age & Weight - not 100% sure of age/weight. but im estimating 1.5 years and 60
- How long have you owned your leo- about 2 months now
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend) - a family gave her and a male to us, turned out they were being kept wrong, ( together, on sand, only one hide for the two of them, etc etc. Ive since separated, put each on carpet, both have good setups)

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo- practically nightly. she is very docile and loves being handled and sleeping in pockets.
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. - no
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.- no
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal) - seem normal, she hasnt been eating as much but i am assuming thats because it has been colder out.
- When was the last time he/she went - last night

C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on
She was having a VERY difficult shed, I had to soak and qtip most of it for her, first got it out of her eyes, then went down the rest of her body, she had something in her vent last night, after helping her shed and soaking. I tried to pull it out, but after a SMALL tug (she didnt seem bothered by it at all) it looked like there was more inside and I quit trying.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size Large Exo Terra (the tank they both originally came in, the male is now in another glass tank
- Type (ex. glass tank) Glass
- Type of substrate- carpet with no loops.
- Hides, how many, what kind- 1 dry/hot hide 1 cool/moist hide (using the same moist hide she came in, it has cocoa fiber in it)
B) Heating
- Heat source UTH
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side) Hot side goes between 88-93 Cool Side is between 73-75
- Method of regulating heat source no method to be honest, it stays steady without having to mess with it.
- What are you using to measure your temps - probe under he climbing tree. she isnt bothered by it, and ambiant humid/temp gauges on cool side.
- Do you have any lights (describe) no, i do have the lights they came with though (they werent on UTH's before..)
C) Cage mates
- How many (males, females) none
- Describe health, or previous problems- no problems before with her. always been good.

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much)- super worms/ mealies/crickets. crickets are once or twice a month, mealies are almost always in her dish, and a super worm 2/3 times a week.
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect)- she eats out of her dish
B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands) - Flukers calci is in a cap in her tank at all times, i put a thing layer of Calci-D3 in the bottom of her dish so the worms naturally roll through it.
- What are you gut loading food with - veggies (mostly potatoes)

I also put some pictures, but what my question is, is why do you think she had such a terrible time shedding? I noticed her color fade last night so i misted her moist hide before bed, it should of been moist enough, and also what do you think the vent issue could be? I was thinking maybe stuck poop because of her being about to shed? or maybe stuck shed?
my plan was to soak her in warm sugar water tomorrow since she is probably all stressed from the shed and seeing if it doesnt come out on its own or improve...
do you think it would be safe for me to try to pull it out? If it is a prolapse of something I dont want to seriously hurt her.
the closest Hep Vet is an hour from here and im very low on budget because its the first of the month and bills just went out..

any help or advice would be wonderful. Im extremely attached to this girl, i dont want anything to happen to her.

** edit: whatever is stuck in her vent is smaller and less thick than it was last night, after soaking it seemed to come out some, but there is still some there and is now hanging a little lower.

First, note that I am in no way, shape or form an expert on leos or medical issues.

I have 1 rescue leo, who had many bad sheds. One issue he had when I got him was shed sticking out of his vent. I took him to the vet. She popped him, soaked everything with saline, tugged a little. If it didn't come off, she soaked it again, used a wet q-tip to try getting it off, then tugged again. Over and over, until it came off. For both hemipenes. Same process for the layers of shed and gunk on his eye. She showed me how as well so I can do it at home if needed (haven't needed to since). So that would be my method.

Are you sure you didnt just interupt her during her shed?
It looks to me based on your pictures that she hadnt even started yet.

What did you "pull from her vent"? Do you have pictures of it or can you describe it?
As far as the shedding problem, a gecko can have a bad shed every now and then but its more likely to happen with a older gecko.

I didnt actually pull anything from it, last night it looked like there was stuck poop or maybe some shed over it that was kinda bulgy. this morning after she soaked it looked a lot smaller and broken up, and later when my boyfriend got home, i took her out to show him and it was gone, so whatever it was is gone and fell off after her soak. I plan to look through her tank to see if i can find it, but i dont wanna mess with her tonight just because she was out so much earlier, she is tired.
