Is the warm end of the set up warm enough for your gecko? I read your description of your setup and assume you provide heat by a red bulb. Do you have an UTH? They need belly heat, preferably around 92F.

How big should the UTH be?Half the tank? And do I put it on the warm or cool side?

half may be too big, usually a quarter or a third of the tank, it depends on the size tank youve got and there are different sized heat pads and...as the name suggests Under Tank Heater should be put on the...warm side.

Yup, and you should have a moist hidebox on the warm side as well. The UTHs also say what size tank they are meant for, right on the package, and they REQUIRE a thermostat or rheostat. Although if your lamp makes the temp. around 90 degrees at the substrate level, I didn't think a UTH was necessary.

It's also fairly normal for a leo not to want to eat before or after it sheds, (it's skin is a pretty big meal), but 4 days seems like a big longer than usual.. any other info you could give us? what has he eaten, and how big, what have you tried feeding him, and how do you know he's not eating it? Has he been pooping regularly?

My leopard gecko is 1 month old, about 2 and a half inches long.I tried feeding him crickets, but I will go get some mealies at the pet store. How do I know he's not eating? He refuses a meal, and when I leave a cricket in for 30 minutes or so,it's still there. He might of ate a cricket yesterday, but we know he ate one like2 days ago.Yes he also did poop yesterday too.

I usually leave mealies in their enclosure, I give 3-4 when I first wake up, and 3-4 more in the evening. Sometimes I will give more in the afternoon if he doesn't have any and still seems hungry. They don't always eat mealies right away, and may not find interest in them until you are completely out of the room. If you see healthy poop on a daily basis, then that's always a good sign :)

Is a UTH a Requirment?Or is it like a plant,you don't need it.

How does A Uth affect eating? It warms their stomachs and that helps them digest food?

Yes, it helps them digest food properly.

Try mealworms, see if he eats a few after leaving them in there for a few hours or so. It may help to let the mealworms wander free so that he sees them moving and goes after them. Make sure he poops healthy and keep us updated :)

I think you're worrying a little bit too much, and I mean that in the most respectable way. Some leos just don't eat a bunch of food items all at once, and I think that as long as he continues to eat some and poop healthily, you are fine. I have a few babies that only eat 1 worm at a time, too

One more thing, can I keep a red light 60 watt on 24 hours?Or do I have to put that in nightime and out a 70 watt light for daytime?
