OK, I made a shedding box out of tupperware and put moss inside and mist it everyday. Then one day I see poop inside so cleaned it and put fresh moss and mist, bam! poop again so I cleaned and mist it again,so I guess he uses the shedding box as an outhouse?:main_rolleyes:. Do I make another shedding box? I'm just worried he might get confused and just pooped in both box.....Please any ideas?

You could also try moving the box in case it's the location. I use eco earth in my shedding box because it's easier to pick out the poop.

there really is no reason why you need to mist the hide everyday. IMO. if they poo in the hide just put paper towels in the hide. When you see the gecko is in shed mist the hide the day before and everything should be good to go. Saves a ton on money. i know it doesn't look as pretty but tupperware isn't all that pretty in the first place.

Poop Where I say to!

Yes, some of mine have pooped in the humid hide. I don't allow it for long though. Some don't like to poop for the public.
Yours will most likely go where ever you want it to.
Pick up all poop and move it to a location you want it to go in.
Keep at it and don't remove it from that location until it starts going there.
I do make an out house dry hide with a tile floor (2 piece)
for those liking to poop indoors. Hide (hides the poop)
and is much easier to clean off tile in the trash and then
with soap and hot water at a faucet.
Sounds as if yours might prefer an inside john.
You can get a 4x4 tile piece( 43 cents) for the floor and drill a entry hole in a (2 for a dollar) salsa bowl from a dollar tree store.
Walmart is 89 cents each.
Take care. Hj

I had one of my females doing that early on but I changed from sphagnum moss to peat and she stopped right away.

thanks guys! now I'm just thinking of just letting her do that and just put a moist moss in one of the caves? so she can have a pick where to shed? I have two caves for hot side and cool side now which side?:main_huh:
