Hi
My gecko is shedding for the first time since i have had it (about 2/3 weeks now) and i am worried that the humid hide isnt going to be good enough for her to completely shed.

I am using moss which i have found dries out very very quickly so doesnt stay moist long at all.

Whats the best thing to use??

Thanks!!

:)

I use paper towels in a tupperware container turned upside down with a hole cut into it. It traps the moisture well and I've never seen it dry out. Puzzle is in there day and night. Here is a pic of it so you know what I mean:

my gecko won't go near the humid hide when it's humid so i just give him a bath. i was home during his most recent shed and the quick soak got it off his feet perfectly this time.

Yeah, I actually had a repti-cave but he never used it. I took it back, Jon Dremeled a little gecko door into the tupperware, we added the paper towel, and he crawled in immediately and has had a perfect shed in it! Saved me $30 on the repti-cave, and it's super easy to change. I highly recommend it.

Oh, I should also mention that Puzzle is an AFT, not a Leo. AFTs like humidity much more than Leos. So it's totally normal that he loves the humidity. Maybe some people with Leos can chime in about what they use for the humid hide.

But you could totally try the one like mine. I know other people use the same idea and it seems to work. :)

I like Emily use a Tupperware with a paper towels over the UnderTank Heater even though I havn't seen my leo shed I know that she's probably shed atleast twice and I havn't seen any problem so far.
