shedding/moist hide

hey im new to the forums and im gonna get a leopard gecko this weekend but i thought id ask a question
can i just put in a moist hide in the tank when i notice that hes about to start shedding or do i leave it in there 24/7?

You should leave it 24/7 because sometimes they shed and you don't even notice and some leos just like to chill in it.

I leave mine in there all the time.
When I first got her she used to hide in it all the time as she felt safer.

It can be done, but you have to keep an eagle eye on them. Even then, you can miss it. It's best to have one all the time.
