Shedding? or something worse

What does it look like when lizard geckos are getting ready to shed? I took a look at my gecko today and for some reason starting at about the neck and going down the rest of the his body he suddenly seems white-ish. I'm a new owner, is this what they look like when they're getting ready to shed or could it be something more ominus?

Sounds like shedding time to me I wouldn't worry to much just make sure you have a humid hide.
