okay i just brought home a gecko who was finishing up shedding when i noticed some was wrapped around its leg and now the leg appears swollen. i am going to take it back to the store tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do but can anyone let me know if there is something i can do? its wrapped too tight to help take it off so i made sure the moist hide is very moist and i dribbled water on the skin in hopes of softening it up. here is a picture and its pretty obvious which leg is the concern

i tried tweezers but its too tight and i'm scared of hurting it. also the tweezers were not that sharp. mainly i just do not want to hurt it, maybe i'll try newer, better tweezers and see how that goes

I know if the shed is on the toes that you can use wet Q-tips to try to coax the shed to loosen. Perhaps you could try rubbing a Q-tip over that small patch. I can't promise it will work, but it might be worth a try :)

i was using my finger to rub water on it, but its just too tight. it had skin still on its face that it couldn't get off, so i had taken care of that already.

i'm just worried that it's arm is swollen because the skin is so tight..

Wet a piece of tissue or cotton (very wet), and put it on the retained shed for a minute, the loose skin will absorb the water and loosen, then you can use a tweezer to slowly pull it off. I use cosmetic tweezers and it works everytime. I hope you can get it off for him, good luck!
