Shedding problem

I just got a leopard gecko Sunday, and it has had some shed stuck on it's eye and mouth. It's previous owner hadn't put a moist hide in there, so I put one in there. If he can't get it off on his own, is it ok if I drop a couple drops of water on his eye with a syringe? Or is there something else I should do?

i use shedding aid, its harmless to their eyes etc

you just spray it on and rub it in softy, then i use tweezers (reptile ones, NOT metal ones) and gently peel it off

make sure you check his/her toes, if theres still skin on there they might drop off

the thing is though, i just got my gecko a couple days ago, and he still doesn't like to be handled. I think he is still really stressed out, would it still be okay. or would it stress him out too much?

IMO I would risk a little more stress to get the stuck shed off the eye. The last thing you want is an eye infection. I like to do those kinds of things when they are sleepy, and not close to feeding time. I find they take to handling a little better. Good luck.
