Shedding problems

My gecko Soleil chewed off one of her toes a few sheds ago, and since then I've been very, very vigilant. She's getting ready to shed again, and this last time she had obviously gotten rough with her back feet again. The time before that was fine because I had her out with me when she first started to shed, and she seemed very uncomfortable, so I gave her a bath and made sure all of it came off. When she chewed off her toe, it was within 24 hours of the start of her shed, and her gnawing on her foot and leg this past time was within a very short time as well. I have no idea why she's rough with herself. She has a humid hide, and I up the humidity when she starts to look cloudy. She has a water dish she can comfortably sit in, and I even mist her with water, which she seems to like. So I don't think moisture is an issue. I want to make this stop because I don't want her to lose any more toes! Anyone had a similar experience or any ideas/advice?

What I do for mine is that I make sure all the temps in the tank are correct. I make sure they are getting the right amount of Calci and D3. Annnnd. I make sure to soak them the day they look very ghostly like almost shed time. I soak them for about ten minutes. then i set up a humid hide for them. make sure she has lots and lots of stuff she can rub on to help get her shed off. If she has to gnaw on herself for the shed to come off she may need some rough surfaces in the tank to rub again. If you find my forum and look at my tank i have, you can see that my geckos have many different surfaces to rub on. Smooths, rough, sandish. Anything to help to shed better.

I was lucky! The day I brought my gecko home she shed with no problems. guess it helped the the humidity in my place was higher than what is recommended for a desert reptile at the time.

I would check your temps and make sure everything is right. You can use a little bit of coconut oil to help with stuck shed. I'm not sure why she would be rough like that though.
