Well this is my 4 time seeing my leopard gecko a.k.a Iggy :D. Just a question because my leopard gecko is still PALE not eating her skin yet. Just asking how long until she will eat her skin. I saw her start shed about on Monday night. Just asking :D

They technically don't go into shed until they start peeling the skin off. They usually get a little pale 1-3 days before. And really white about 12 hours before they shed. Sometimes babies (or geckos in new homes) take more time until they begin shedding, and it can take them longer to shed.
There is nothing to be afraid of :D

I gotta say

Thekooliest is right.:main_thumbsup:

Just make sure that the temp is right and that there is a moist hide.

Snowy just had a shed and for a couple of days before she was just "white".

I knew a shed was comming but, I didn't know when she would be done.

So No Worries.:D

How long do you geckos generally take to shed from the moment you see them start to get it off?

My gecko took 24 hours.

My gecko took 24 hours.

It can range from 1 hour - 24 hours.
Right when I got my geckos they were a bit scared and not accustomed to the new area (and they were only 2 months old), so it took them 24 plus hours. Now mine get it done in about 4-8 hours.

Haha, I just noticed mine was shedding earlier tonight.

After I misted her tank, she had in off in 30 minutes.

Ya they can go pretty fast.
Mine have done it during school or during sleep the 3 months I have had em, so don't know if it is 1 minute (lol :p) or 7 hours.

LOL! I have never seen my leos shed.
I sometimes find little pieces of skin on the floor, thats the only
evidence I have ever seen that they even do shed!!

So I have no clue how long it takes either :main_huh:

Mine just shed last night while I was sleeping! She was really white last night so I soaked her in a warm bath and then this morning she was back to normal with a little more carrot tail coloring, last time I had to help here this time she did it on her own!

Puzzle hasn't shed yet with me. How often do they shed, usually? I've only had him since Tuesday, so he's still settling in. I gave him a smaller, warmer humid hide and he was in it this morning for the first time since I've had him. And do juveniles shed more than adults? He's pretty young still, less than 4 months.

I got a humidifier for our room, because it was so dry in there. It's brought the humidity levels up in his tank from 5-10% to 40-45%. I just want to make sure he's comfortable and the environment is conducive to shedding if he wants/needs to.
