Shelf rack

Okay i have some shelfs in my house that i wanted to turn into a hatchling rack.I got heat tape and i was wondering what the best temp controller i have a helix on my vision v-35 rack and it works will but thats with heat cable.will this work or would it be easeir to just buy a vison hatchling rack

I prefer heat cable over heat tape. Helix or a Hepstat Proportional Therometer will work. I use Herpstat. Using the shelves will save you money but Vision racks are very nice. I say use the shelves and use the extra money for more leopard geckos

I have an extra 150 feet of heat cable but i like to use belly heat i would have to make some kind of platform the keep the tubs directly of the cable

I have Aluminum tape on the bottom, heat cable, and then I put aluminum tape ovet the cable. It works awesome for me. Nigel was here a little while ago and saw it. Keeps the temps right where I want it.

So i need to put down some aluminum tape then the cable the more tape and it wont start a fire or any thing ?

I think it is more safe then flex watt. But use what you are comfortable using.

i like heat cable i might just put 2 small pieces of wood to make the tubs sit just about a half inch off the cable
