Greetings fellow Leo enthusiasts!
(first post!:main_yes:)

I have 2 (female) leopard geckos since 2005.
Havent had any problems at all thus far.
Never Bred.
I normally feed live/dead crickets
Ive recently began to give them superworms
One of my geckos has developed a lump under her tail.
I called a local reptile shop and they werent too helpful or insightfull when saying; "its normal, she's "in heat""
Her eating patterns have slightly changed (eating less)
and the bump seems to have grown, and she seems thinner.
Maybe i am paranoid, because i LOVE my lizards...but i trust what i read on here will bring me to ease.
:help:

here are some pics of the lump.

thanks for looking, thanks in advance for the replies.

Thats not normal, although I dont know what it is. Wait for some more experianced people to come along, but I can tell you its not because shes in heat. I would look into seeing an exotic vet.

DEFinitely not normal. Looks almost like an overly-enlarged hemipene, but there are no markings on her to indicate otherwise that she's a male, so that shouldn't be the problem. She needs to see a vet, though...that can't be good for her.

My immediate impression was hernia, but then I saw that the lump is actually after the cloaca, not before it, so it's not a hernia. At least in snakes, females will have a space in the tail beyond the cloaca, and if the same is the case with leopard geckos, then she might have a pretty serious infection in there. She definitely needs vet attention.
