Okay I had a male 4 month old gecko shipped to me, somehow paypal messed my address up, and fed-ex had the wrong address, they called, I gave them my new address and she said okay I will tell the driver... 35 mins later, I called back and asked if they could tell me where the package was, and how long til the baby got here. The lady said she was going to have the driver call me, it has been 20 MORE mins, and still nothing, do you think he will be okay?!?! Should I call them back and tell them it is very urgent that they get him to me ASAP?!?! I never said it was a live animal, cause they said they would have the driver call me, so I figured I would talk to the driver about that, but I haven't heard from the driver?!?! HELP PLEASE!!!

I got ahold of them, and told them that it was a Live animal, and they were like that is against our regulations, let me get the dispatcher for you.. and I was on hold for almost 5 mins, and then she came on and said they would deliver it before 4:30, and then she remeinded me that it was against their regulations to ship?!! I dont get that! I have seen people on Kingsnake stateing that they are certified through fed-ex to ship live animals, and well as UPS, I also had a problem with UPS a while back when shipping my ball pythons, they also told me that it was agaisnt their regulations to ship live animals, but once again I have seen people saying that they are certified to ship live through UPS, should I just not ship them anymore?!? I dont get it, the only geckos I can find are out of state, we dont have many here in KY.

The geckos should be fine as long as the temperatures inside the truck are moderate. If you haven't done so already, update our shipping information on you PayPal account.

It is NOT against UPS policy to ship live animals, and Jerome posted their policy verbatim. It IS against their policy to ship snakes. When a UPS employee tells you they don't allow live animal shipment, ask to speak to a supervisor.

Now I'm in the same boat. Fedex was supposed to have my girl here by noon, now they're saying tomorrow at the earliest. She was shipped last night. Do y'all think she'll be ok if she doesn't get here until tomorrow?

I just looked really quick at there website and couldn't find anything specifically. (Im at work so shhhhhh....) The point i would think would be valid is that they shipped it as an overnight I assume and if its not on time than are they going to deal with the potential damages?

Scare tactics work alot with big companies as a last resort. But find out what there policies are. Im still a newb so i dunno :)

I'm not so much worried about them refunding the money. I really just hope that the poor leo is alright. She should be, right?

Jessica, where is the gecko located? That will really determine if the gecko will be ok. You'd have to check and see what the temps are like in that area. If it was shipped as next day air then it is gauranteed as so, except for their multiple excuses as to why they won't be held accountable for it.

You have to remember that there are times in the wild when temps are not normal. These creatures are able to deal with it for a short period of time, that time period probably being a few days. I think the gecko will be ok. Keep us posted.

He is still doing GREAT guys, I will take some pics of him tonight and post them, he is GORGEOUS!!

And Airilith I hope your baby will be alright, I was the same way not so much the money being refunded but the poor leopard was all I was worried about! I am going to say that she will be okay, my guy was perfectly fine and the temps here was high 80's low 90s yesterday!! As long as the person who shipped her packed her right my guess is she will be fine, but I know how it is to be in that position, worrying to death! I called fed-ex at least 4 times between 11-4pm!! LOL

64 is probably close to normal winter night time temps for them, so she should be fine. The temps should boost up to the mid to high 70's today.

It is not the shipper's responsibility if the address was incorrect.

What I meant by that was if FedEx/UPS does not get it there by the gauranteed time then they should refund the next day air fees. UNLESS there is an incorrect or incomplete address. Now these companies list just about anything and everything as a reason as to why they are NOT held accountable for the package being delivered late. I just feel like more times then not they try to weasle their way out of being held accountable for missed delivery times.

Fed Ex has done me the same way twice. I know the driver personally on the route that comesbymy house and the two times my geckos werenot here by the 10:30 dead line it was the drivers fault. She had misread the address (so she said) butwhen I looked at it I was able to read it just fine. A few calls to Fed Ex usually got my gecko here pretty quick. Now I just use UPS and they have been great SO FAR

Yea we just had a mishap with fedex sending our package to the wrong state. Never had any problems with them before but it seems they are going off the deep end. Come to find out if you do not have any insurance on the package they will not refund any money for them making a mistake. Kinda messed up if you ask me.
