If it is an independent location, such as a UPS store or another drop off point, they are not required to accept live animals or hazardous materials.

You may need to make sure it is a UPS owned drop off location.

Dear Edgar,

Thank you for your question. UPS can accept certain live animals for U.S. domestic transportation on a limited basis. This service is currently not offered to or from Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or international locations.

Packages containing live animals must be prepared in accordance with specific packaging requirements. This is to ensure the humane care and safety of the animal during transportation.

Live animals that are prohibited from being shipped and are not accepted for transportation include, but are not limited to:

- Any poisonous, venomous or threatening animal
- Any Threatened or Endangered species
- Arachnids (All): Examples: mites, scorpions, spiders, ticks
- Birds (All)
- Crocodiles (All): Examples: alligators, caimans, gavials
- Mammals (All)
- Obnoxious Insects: Examples: flies, locusts, mosquitoes, roaches, termites, weevils
- Snakes (All): venomous and non-venomous

To view specific information regarding authorized animal species, packaging guidelines, and UPS shipping liability, please reference the following link:

Many independently owned stores like mail box etc, ups store, amongst others don't ship animals.

You can have UPS pick up the box at your house.

Why wouldn't you want to ship overnight? It would be a detriment to the reptiles.

Who said why I wouldn't want over night? I was just asking....well I live in between merced and atwater and I was thinking on going to the merced one but they denied me so I called atwater and she told me she will look into it an so she called ups and she then told me yes I could but it has to be next day air. So now i have no problems but to just drive 4 miles!

LOL! Yes, most UPS Stores are privately owned franchises, and many will not accept live animal shipments. Your best bet would be to drop it off at another place that accepts UPS packages, or you can even give it to a UPS dirver anywehre if you don't want to call them for a pick-up.
