Well i have a couple geckos that eat what they want to eat. It happens to be mealworms this year.

Im trying to find the best price on these buggers with out going to the pet shop and shelling out big bucks for small amounts. Im thinking 500-1000 count with most likely them going in fridge to hold them in stasis for as long as i can.

Any Help on some sites you buy your bugs from would be very helpful! :-D

I just ordered from Tasty Worms and they all came in healty. I've also used Premium Live Crickets and they always come in great. You can look on the Fauna Classifieds site and find people selling them for cheap.

I'm thinking that since you only need 500-1000 at a time, ordering online would be more expensive because of the shipping. I would try to find someone who is breeding wormsin your area. If not, I use Grubco with awesome results. I order 5K twice a month and pay $30. Can't beat that!

You might try putting up an ad on your local craigslist that you're looking for an area mealworm breeder. If you do end up having to order online, get 1000, same as shipping for 500 and they store well refrigerated to last a long time.

Interestingly, I put an ad last month on the same craigslist that Neill would be using and got 2 responses, both from people I'd dealt with before, recommending some online vendors. This was after I killed off most of my breeding colony by putting them too near my forced hot air heat vent.

I'd go with grubco as well. Get small ones and it will take some time for them to grow so they'll last longer.

If you are in a pinch you can check with your local bird habitat store. They usually have some for less than a pet store. They aren't as cheap as online stores, but to tide you over it works well. My local store sells 500 for about $9. They typically keep them in the back, so you have to ask for them.
