Should I be worried?

We've had our two baby cresties for almost 3 weeks now... and I have never seen them eat. I know they've at least had a few tiny crickets... but didn't look like they touched their crestie diet stuff (Other than to walk thru it...I found footprints.), and I even tried very small mealies (Don't seem to touch them either... but for some reason at least one LOVES to hang out on the side of the bowl and watch them.)

Just want to make sure the little ones are doing ok. ;)

That's totally normal. Baby Cresteds never make a big enough dent in the CGD dish to look like they've eaten anything. As long as you see poops in the tank and they're growing then you know they are eating!

Good thing then. I find a good bit of poops in there. First week was like "omg? thing much from something so small?" Luckily things have leveled off now. And it's not smeared on the sides of the tank. :main_laugh:

And I would stay away from the mealworms, thats a very large meal for such a small critter. And as Mel said poop=eating , I know you would feel better actually seeing a difference in the CGD bowl, but they have itty bitty bellies so they dont eat a whole lot. And for some reason my last 5 clutchs want nothing to do with crickets, thankfully they are all eating CGD!

Yeah, I had read about staying away from mealies...as odd as it sounds I don't think they were interested in them anyway. But they sure loved to sit on the edge of the bowl and watch them for hours at a time. lol. Must be like gecko tv. lol.

My hatchlings never touch crickets but once the geckos are a few weeks to a month old they start to go into 'attack mode' whenever they see a bug!

I'm sure they'll be fine. I've never dealt with any this young. And these two are our first cresties. They are way, way, WAY more skitish then any of our leos or aft ever were... even for babies. Haven't had them a month yet and they still run in terror whenever I have to mist, clean, or do anything with their tank.

Silly babies.
