Should I Pip or Wait?

This is a thread going off from the topic I had before. I had posted another question, but I guess the thread had already died and the last replies were from last week.

So it is about the same two eggs, well one of them. Incubated at 88-90 degrees and is day 39. One egg is really big, swollen, is is about to hatch, meanwhile, it's clutchmate's egg has turned yellow and has collasped. Nothing is dripping out the egg yet. Inside, I see the baby and it glows red, but the egg is collasped and yellow. It has been like this since yesterday morning and has gotten worse. If it was about to hatch, it would had done that yesterday, right? It has never gotten big and swollen like it's clutchmate.

Here is a pic of the egg. From left to right, it is egg #4.

1 2 3 4..and so on....

Number 2 is it's clutchmate...

Here is a pic of it from yesterday:

I am too much of a punk for pipping or opening, but I am really curious, and I would just have to suck it in and do it. It just isn't looking too well. Do eggs usually deflate like this and change color like this when they are hatching, and how long do they stay dented.

This recently happened to me and the egg was incubated at 81-83 for 90 days and it had deflated in a time period of 5 hours, so i pipped it right away and when i got to the baby he had suffocated hopefully this won't be the case for you.

It's not looking good. I've only had eggs look like that after the baby died. I hope that yours makes it though.

I cannot buff up and pip it, but I did candle it for a while.

It seems like it died earlier on, fully developed and stuff, but it is not as big as it's clutchmate in the egg. Their heads and bodies seem to be two different sizes. Then each time I move the egg or something, the baby jiggles in the way I am denting it, so it may be dead. I may wait till it goes really bad, or wait till my friend comes over, so we can pip it together, if she can buff up, so I can.

(IMHO) Toughen up and help it out. Or call a Surgeon.

At that high a temp he's either ready for fresh air or already cooked. You aren't going to interrupt any hatching process that has not been terminated already. . Mine at 86 degrees are hatched about 39 days. take care. HJ
