Should I put a little of the powder to put on his insects in a little dish in his cage?

You should dust the cricks/mealies with calcium powder with vitimain D3 in it. Also you should have a little dish in the cage with just regular calcium powder without vitmain D3 in it. Not 100% sure what you were asking but hope that helps
