I cant believe how easy it is to spend money, but so hard to make it. I spent more than I thought I had. Well, enough of my poorness!
I know that some of you are not interested in hearing this, but the very first Christmas is really about a couple long ago that were so poor that they couldn't afford a hotel for the night. Their very special baby was coming, and the only place they had to stay was a stable. That night, a child was born to the world... the greatest gift to mankind.

Christmas is not about money. It's not about what we get. It's about love and giving freely of ourselves to each other. It's about the joy of making others happy.

This 'Secret Santa' thread shows us how wonderful it is to have that joy!

:iloveyou: I assure you that sending my gift was more heartwarming than I can describe. To know that I made another person happy makes me happier than if I was to recieve my dream gift. I am not kidding when I say this either.

I know that, but just in general. I cant have a baby that will be the next savior, but I can crack a smile on someones face. I am still giving no matter what it takes, because seeing all those people happy with me and not mad at me is the best thing that can happen. (Some of you might understand that)

I know you are not kidding! The majority of us that participated in this fantastic 'Secret Santa' collaboration are having soooo much fun giving to each other!!! It truly shows by the thoughtfulness and generosity of the gifts they are giving to one another, and I am overwhelmed with how much we all truly care about each other!

All I can say is... WOW.

It is the most amazing thing in the world to share love. Whether it be in the form of a gift or a simple greeting. It really makes Christmas time such a precious thing.

Amen sister! We all have a tendency to get lost in the buying gifts part of Christmas, when what it is really about is so much more important than that.

Thanks for saying that Marcia! Jesus is the reason for the season.

Was the wow comment direct to me? lol I now its a shocker, but ask anyone that knows me well *CoughPaulCough*, and they will tell you I am a very considerate person, except when you get on my bad side, then I get dry reindeer poop from Santa.

well, we all have our reasons for doing this. Many are doing it because of what they know happened with Jesus. Other's are doing it because they think it's fun. What ever makes you happy.

Yes, we all do have our reasons. Personally, I feel uncomfortable when people are discussing religious things like "jesus".

I think it's great to see the level of commitment and kindness we all have for eachother. Especially since we are entrusting our hard earned cash or hand raised geckos on eachother.
It's all holiday spirit to me. I think the point Marcia made about what Christmas is really about, is exactly that and only those reasons for me.

I have to agree. Nothing to do with this. But I gave a gecko up a few months ago for adoption. He had a really hard season, and I think she may be past her peak. But when I saw the kid that was getting her and how excited him and his family were. It was worth it.

Ok, I finally got the second part of my SS gift finished after a screw up or two and it is going postal tomorrow. Unfortunately it's not a gecko....my collection isn't grand enough to send to anyone as of yet but give me a season or two!!!!! This has been so much fun. We need to start a couple of weeks earlier next year. There are some of us ( ME ) who has a hard time choosing a gift and that makes the poor recipient have to wait forever. Now if I got Paul I could have sent a ton of grits ( my momma is an old Kentuckian and has every brand and flavor on hand at all times, LOL) and peanut butter cups and been done long ago. But seriously, it hasn't been a good month here and this has managed to really put a smile on my face. Thanks to you all and especially Matt and Mallorie for managing all of this.....and us, LOL!
