Sorry this is a noob question... When I bought this pair at the Hamburg Show, the vendor sold them as "Sunglows". These were literally the first geckos I purchased and obviously since I started researching and learning more about morphs it brought the question into mind whether these were really in fact sunglows, or if they were just SHTCTs, since I'm not 100%. In fact, it seems like on some websites and shows I've been to, the term "sunglow" just gets thrown around, even though sunglows are SHTCTs x Albino. I'm not sure how you distinguish between a SHTCT and a Sunglow visually, if anyone can give me some advice, that'd be great.

The male has larger pupils. Havin trouble bringing his pic up for some reason. He's the one on the right in the first picture, you can see his eye fairly well. Tell me how you determine by the eyes?

:p I guess I need to get up close and personal with a tang and see what normal eyes look like then! haha Thank you for clarifying that for me.

I appreciate it guys. I didn't know you could tell the difference by the appearance of the eyes.

No eye shot necessary for this question....definitely sunglows or (super) hybinos. How can I tell? The tail doesn't show any black pigmentation but the darkish brown/purple which tells me that these animals are 1. albinos and 2. kept rather cool! ;) Very nice animals, I can imagine you're proud of them!

By leopardgeckos this isn't true. The amelanistic trait is localized in the skin and is not shown in the eyes of the animals (that's why these 'albinos' have no red eyes!). So if you wonder if an animal is an albino or not, don't look at the eyes, look at the presence of black pigmentation in the skin! :)

So you're saying the spots on the tails of SHTCTs are far darker by comparison... I see, I was just having a hard time seeing the subtle differences between the two, some look VERY similar.

Thanks, I am proud of them and can't wait to see the babies that hatch next week :D
