I just got my baby gecko about two-three months ago. He has been in GREAT condition and growing so so fast. About the last three weeks he has been going through rapid shedding and he stopped eating. His left eye looks crusted and his face just looks a little sickley, and I can't tell if his right eye is open or closed! Help? :main_huh:

Yes thats what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure because it has been like that for a bit. I gave him a bath yesterday and ran some warm water over his eye. I cooled his tank down a bit and got rid of the Cali Sand and replaced it paper towls instead (I was thinking the sand was the "crust") but now the skin around his eye is turning green down to his mouth.

I just cheked on him again, and I realized both eyes are shut, but they are crusted shut. That would explain why he isn't eating, he can't find his food! I DO have a humid hide, any idea's? We don't have a herp vet around where we live.

Here are some pics I took of him this morning, with his before picture as well. This has been about a week since this happened. Last night I also bough some Turtle eye drops that open and clean inflamed eyes, and I spray him everyday with Bio-Mist skin conditioner to help him shed (he is shedding right now)

When you go, ask about Vitamin A deficiencies!

I actually think those turtle drops may contain Vit A, which could be a good thing!

Yeah I just read a post on that!! I am really starting to think that is what she has, and the very first symptom I found in her were swollen eyes...wonder why the vet didn't mention that? I will call him on tusday.

Ask for a broad spectrum antibiotic, looks like an eye infection but I would bet it came from the mouth, most likely has other bacteria as well. Take a closer look at the cage temp paying close attention to the warm side (under tank heater), also change water every single day!
