Sick Leopard gecko, possible Bacterial Infection

My leopard gecko is, I believe, Male (Possibly Female) The breeder I got him from labeled it as male but I’m not too sure. He is around 1 1/2 - 2 years old and I’m not sure how much he weighs. I handle him about every other day for 15 minutes and he is very active and climbs around. He is in a 24” x 18” x 12” EXO-Terra terrarium and kept on 2 inches of Eco Earth. Is eat pad is in the 85 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. He has all of his correct supplements and stuff. But here is the problem. For the past month I have noticed that he would never really eat. First he wouldn’t eat his crickets so I tried mealworms with him, which he usually loves. He wouldn’t eat that but he would he an occasional wax worm. Now, his tank is high up and I can’t see into his water dish very well, but when I cleaned it out I saw that there was a dead cricket in it with white puss coming out of it. The bottom of the dish was slimy and very gross. I believe that that is the source of the problem. Since then I clean his dish and flush out the water every week. I’m just wondering if this will get better on its own or if I need to go to a vet, and what disease it is. Thanks

The white puss is actually probably a regular cricket that's just decomposing in the water dish. I'm glad you were able to get things clean. If he's not losing weight, it's not a big problem that he's not eating right now. If his tail keeps getting thinner then he is losing weight and I'd recommend a vet visit.

So you don't think he could have gotten sick from the decomposed cricket in the water? Also, one thing I forgot to note is that I found a patch of wet dirt. I'm not sure if it was just pee because he hasn't been eating or if he threw up.

If he threw up you'd see the stuff he regurgitated. Likely it's pee. I don't think it's likely he got sick from the cricket, but I can't know for sure 100%.

My advice would be to get the gecko off that eco earth and just use paper towels. He could have ingested some eco earth as he was eating. I would give him some warm soaks and gently massage his belly in a downward motion from the head. you can also put a drop of olive oil on his nose to help him pass whatever is in there if he is, in fact, impacted.
