Does anyone have any experience feeding silkworms to your leos?

This is one I havent tried yet, and I'm not sure if leos will eat them :main_huh:

Any thoughts, comments? :)

Only a couple of mine will eat them. The others have shown no interest in them.

They're very nutritious. Just expensive and hard to keep. I've never fed them to my leos but they gave my bearded dragon a major health boost when he was a baby.

Stan...You love trying new things, as long as it isn't free.
I have never tried them, but they are nutritious. If you decide to breed them (which I believe is hard), I wrote a guide for someone.

We buy eggs from Mulberryfarm. The eggs are not too bad to to grow into worms but we have been unsuccessful at breeding them. They are sensitive even as worms to bacteria.

Most of our leos love them. Last time we fed them we had around 88 leos and only three of them wouldn't eat them. I would highly suggest them to anyone.

Other varieties

There are othe more robust and heartier varieties of silkworms then the common white ones from Chinese stock, such as zebra silkworms which are sexually dimorphic, females getting stripes males staying white and black silkworms which are not sexually dimorphic and have a reverse pattern compared to zebras. All are Bombyx morii.

Silks are not hard to keep at all. Very easy in fact. You would be suprised. The prices are starting to come down as well :main_yes:
