Sorry if this has been asked already. Do the eggs in SIMs hatch sooner? My eggs are hatching about 5-7 days earlier than last year.

So far things have been great with the SIM. I have one with vermiculite and one with superhatch. All fertile eggs have hatched. Only the infertile/bad ones haven't, but I incubate them anyways until they are really bad.;)

Hey Kristi,
Being that the eggs are suspended above the substrate, they are getting more oxygen and are not sitting in carbondioxide... This allows the embryo to develop faster... Also, once heated to the temp needed, the SIM does not let heat out as quickly as other containers so even when the incubator is opened, the temps stay stable for a long time...

What you are seeing is what most, if not, all of our customers have experienced... This was also discovered in our own side by side trials before we released the container for public sale...

I am happy you are having good results with the container Kristi... Any data you can come up with please foward it to John or myself... We are trying to compile as much data as possible...

Thanks Gregg! I appreciate you answering my question. I love that they hatch sooner. The wait always kills me!

Can someone explain me how does it work. The water/substrate ratio is the same? and what incubator do I need to use the S.I.M. container? Where the thermostat probe should be placed?

Thanks
