Similarly fun geckos

Hello. I'm planning on getting more reptiles :D. My parents are vehemently opposed :main_angry: :main_no:. However, I was thinking if I used my old leopard gecko tank when I put my male in with my female, they would be OK.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I want a bit of a challenge, but nothing too complicated. Nothing that needs really high humidity.

I was thinking of getting a Tokay gecko, but it doesn't have to be a gecko. It just has to fit in a 20-30 gallon tank.

Thanks,

Cresteds are fun, I am not sure what you mean by challenge.
With a lot more "Expert" level reptiles you need a larger cage.

You can't keep much in such a tank their entire lives.

Maybe something like armadillo lizards,
A tokay is great but they are more than a slight challenge to handle or to even clean the cage, and they do better with vertical tanks.
I had a green lacerta in a 20 gallon but he was rather vicious and boring
Fat tails, but they may be too similar to leos

OH I got it. Do a chameleon. They are challenging and fun, but you have to do some research some do get bigger than a 20-30 gallon tank. And yes, they need humidity but your not going to really escape that.

You don't need to worry about humidity with bearded dragons or uromastyx, however they get rather large.

Other than geckos/lizards,
Handable frogs do include pac man frogs, white dumpy, budgetts.
Corn snakes do well in smaller tanks too

Really I am not sure what your looking for you didn't give us much to go off of.

Pretty much, most animals need a larger cage, and thats pretty much it.
