styrafoam(sp?) box
heatmat in bottom
thermostat
2 bamboo canes across bottom, above heatmat to create 'shelf'
put egg boxes (e.g. tuppaware, filld with moist vermiculite and eggs) ontop of bamboo shelf
put lid on box

voila!

(+ digital thermometer lol)

btw open egg boxes once a week for air exchange
and ensure humidity in egg boxes - very important!!!!!

If your rep room or any room in your house stays at a consistant temp you can shelf the eggs in a container (lots of people follow Albey's method for water/perlite ratio), and you should be fine until you get an actual bator. Hovabators are pretty decent and a decent price. You could use a styrofoam cooler with a heat source, but would need something to regulate the temp-same as a hovabator or any other bator you purchase. We successfully hatched out 6 females prior to us getting our bator by shelving the eggs in our garage. We now use a converted mini fridge.
