Hi , When everyone talks about keeping your Leos the same age and size. What is size? Do you go off grams or just the visual. I'm sure its both ,but me being new -most all look alike or close to it- if not being an obvious age difference. What difference in grams is considered close? Thanks Jeff

I usually don't house multiple geckos in the same enclosure. But I'd say same or similar weight and length. Sometimes just because they're the same age, it doesn't mean they're going to be the same size. I'd say a few grams nothing more than 5 or so.

I'd go with visual because being 5 grams or so different in size doesn't mean much, at least not for adults. Plus, it's more of a rule for the females since males are almost always larger in size anyway. We have a pretty huge male (116.7 grams) that is housed with two females that are 60 grams. He is nearly twice their size! But he is a little sweetheart and is more interested in keeping them protected than anything. Everyone gets enough food, there's no competition, etc. etc. We monitored their behavior VERY closely to make sure there weren't any problems at first, and they have continued to live together with no problems for awhile now.

No matter what, you will always have to do the same (monitor geckos housed together). Some leos seem to love company (all of ours pal around and sleep with eachother) and others just DO NOT play well with others. We had two females that couldn't be housed together until a male was added. One female was bullying, but once a male was put into the mix, she has stayed well "in line."

You will need a seperate enclosure (or a partitioned one) for multiple geckos as a "plan B" always.

If you could tell us the sizes of your geckos in question, that could help too ;) Of course, scratch that if this is just a theoretical question
