Size/Potential

Just a general question here; and my first post. My leopard gecko, Leonidas, is approximately 4 months old. He is already between 7 and 7 1/2 inches long. I don't know his weight because I haven't gotten a scale yet, though I plan too. I'm just wondering if that kind of growth is normal, or if I have a potential little fatty on my hands. Thanks for any replies!

That seems like it's on the bigger side of normal. How much does the gecko weigh? One of our males who is about three months old is about that long and thirty grams.

A weight or a pic would give us a good indication as to whether he is a Giant

I bet that he has a real good appetite-lol

I'll work on getting a picture, and his weight. He's not lanky though. He's not tubby really either, just very stocky. He is a beautiful Bell Albino with a nice lavender-ish tail and some tangerine at the tail base. He was a very good eater since the very first day I bought him. Thanks everyone for your help so far!

I just took a look at the link in your sig. The picture you have with the gecko sitting on the top of your hand, with the date in yellow is very much what my gecko looks like. Pattern and color are different, but he is fat like that. He is also about 8 inches long. I got a better look at him compared to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, and tail tip to snout he was just shy of being as long as the width of the paper. Thanks again for all your help!

He looks just like one of our babies, who we think will end up being bigger than average. Ours is approx. 4 months old and is nearly 50 grams
