I was checking on my geckos, and I went to my baby gecko's cage. There was blood on the floor. I got her out of the cage and her back leg has no skin on half of it. We soaked it in warm water and now the skin is starting to come of of her other leg. I am freaked out of my mind. does anyone have help for me and my geckos. wish I had pics, but my sisters lost my cameras.

The rips have finally stopped getting worse. Now the skin is kinda starting to grow back. She is happy as ever and is still eating her crickets. Whoever said baby geckos eat more than all the food in the world, YOU ARE RIGHT. She eats about 20 cricks a day!!! Sometimes more!!! Hahaha. Is this to many cricks, or is this the normal amount?

made a 'bath' for him just now. it is a rubbermaid lid with paper towels soaked with water where he stands, so he won't drone. i think he is going to lick all of the water out of it :D he won't stop licking it. maybe he lost too much blood and is drinking water to help him make more. he is also looking more like a 'sick' gecko.
i called another vet and she said he is to small for 'stitches' and i should wash and clean him and just make sure it doesn't get infected. PLEASE i hope he lives this. i was going to involve him in some projects, but now i am rethinking that. i never want a gecko to go through this ever again.

That doesn't sound like anything I could imagine a vet saying. You will need both oral and topical antibiotics with wounds that large or infection is almost sure to come. Was he in a fight with a cage mate? Make sure he is separated from your other geckos, if this turns out to be due to some sort of unknown skin disease or type of mites eating at him, you don't want them winding up with the same issues. You should also clean his tank and all equipment with 1:10 amonia/water and then wipe it all down with 90%+ rubbing alcohol.

I can no long stay reading a single post you put up. You are in my eye ABUSING these animals! You are irresponsible and too young to own an animal and your parents are even worse to allow you to own an animal that is missing a large portion of its skin without taking that animal to a vet...and the fact that they are DOCTORS makes it even worse. This whole thread makes me SICK!

Take your animals to the nearest animal shelter you do NOT DESERVE to own a animal! I wanted to cry looking at that photo. This makes me sick!!! And truly anyone answering your post is simply playing into your sick science experiments! That poor creature!

no he is housed alone.

cleaned every thing and he is actually in a new cage, with all new hides and stuff

i agree, i am looking a another vet. (i live in louisiana and we don't have a lot of good exotic vets here)

Also, that gecko looks extremely skinny..

you loose a lot of skin and still want to each 20 cricks. i also said before he if starting to look more like a 'sick' gecko.
