skinny baby..

So like i said i had bought a new leopard gecko yesterday...

h/she has a totally different personality than my 1st one..

h/she is very jumpy... runs when h/she sees me... only has pooed once and won't eat anything..not even a wax worm...

h/she is skinny is there any hope?

anyone have any advice or anything... I don't think a vet trip is necessary

but i would appreciate input..thanks todd-

well since you just got him yesterday i would give him a couple of days to settle in and adjust. each leo is different, with the period of time it takes them to settle is and feel compfortable. just give him some time, and see what happens.

also he's housed seperatly from your other, right?

but yea i just had to be sure.
and try not to worry to much, i'm sure he'll be fine once he gets used to his new home

but a vet visit never hurts to get a clean bill of health. especially if coming from uh........a pet store

One poop after only one day is just fine! I find about one "present" per gecko, per day. If it is TOO skinny (in your opinion) you can always supplement with the slurry recipe for awhile, to get him/her on their feet. What food items are you offering them? The tiny gecko I "rescued" from a pet store was very thin when I got him. I offered meal worms, and he would have none of them. I got some medium crickets the following day, and he went NUTS. Since then he's gained a ton of weight and is very healthy

well i had just left 1 wax worm and 5 meal worms in her dish.... i left for a while and came back..they were gone... i believe that she ate that cricket too....or it just escaped under the paper towels...

I am currently waiting for repticarpet order from the local mom and pop pet store...

that will be a big help...

I am pretty sure s/he is gonna be ok... hopefully i will start seeing some weight gain...

Its not like i can see her bones..Shes not that skinny but she is real small but very alert and hyper if i am not watching her..(she runs away real fast into a hide if i do)..
