In all honesty, I think the first SS's were not very robust. Many folks had problems with them feeding and growing, but now that they are being outcrossed and the gene pool isn't as shallow, they seem to be much better!

I've actually noticed mine has a somewhat hard time seeing, and it affects her feeding habits...But she is still easilly my favorite adult gecko...

I don't own a super snow but by looking at pics ,I have noticed they do tend to be pretty thin. I wondered the same thing myself.

I am very thrilled to say that the big male SS I have is from Albey, and I was fortunate enough to acquire one of his Snow/fasciolatus crosses as well. She is only 8 months old, and weighs 53 grams... and is quite chubby! I also imported two pure F1 E. m. fasciolatus females from a breeder from Germany, and they are very long and slender.

As soon as my camera is fixed, I will be posting pics.

I had also heard that the SS's were skinny. I bought a male SS from JMG in Feb. that was 10 months old and weighed 48 grams. His picture is on the forum somewhere. He didn't eat at all for nearly 2 weeks and i got worried. Now he's chowing down everything I put in there and is 61 grams and still growing. He still looks kind of long and lanky but is much more robust. I'll post an updated picture on this thread in a few days when I have some time.

Haha, that is true. Both black, and striping can make something appear thinner. Could have a little something to do with it too.
