Sleeping in the open?

Hey guys. You may remember a couple of my threads about the two other geckos I bought that ended up having serious problems. I'm happy to say my current, super healthy juvenile, puts food away like a vacuum and poops like a champ. I do have one question though...she seems to LOVE to sleep out in the open rather than in her hides during the day. She will use her hides (she's in her hot hide now and loves her humid at night), but for the most part, she spends her sleeping hours during the day just passed out and happy out in the open towards the front of the tank, snoozing. Is this normal or okay? :)

I've noticed that mine will sleep half in and half out of it's hot hide during the day and will sometimes sleep on top of the hide altogether. This just started in the last week or so.

For some reason my gecko is out of his hide during the day sleeping on the floor of the tank for the last week. He used to stay in his hide all day. Strange.

Some geckos get comfortable with their humans' routines to the point they no longer feel the need to stay concealed when they sleep.

I think this is happening a bit with my gecko, I caught her sleeping a bit near hotspot today, not quite on it, while I was in the room.

Yup, seems like your gecko is just comfortable with their surrounds and with everything that is going on in your house. Some of mine do that. One of my girls in the livingroom sleeps out in the open all the time, unless somone opens the front door. Then she just shoves her head in her hide and goes from there.

It's funny you mentioning this because when i got blaze i had a log in her tank and she'd be out alot sleeping underneath that, then i went and brought another form of log and now she spends alot of her time in her hide now and only comes out at night, it's lovely to see them out:D I might change it back.lol as i love watching her:main_yes:
