I have been pondering recently...(don't know why because I have never used your magical slurry recipe).
I was thinking, can you use any feeder in the mixture, not just mealworms. Because me, and many people breed roaches or crickets and they are much easier to obtain. I hope the answer gets this off my mind and helps other people.

I have made slurry twice so far and I didnt use any insects at all either times...first time because of the mealworm shortage. Second time simply because the first time worked just fine.

I know Marcia does not recommend crickets because they go bad alot quicker than mealworms....So maybe that would be similar to roaches? They might make the slurry go rancid quicker.

We acutally didn't have a blender when we made the slurry, so I cut up a bunch of super worms and put them in there.. it didn't really work so well to say the least lol

Lol. My mom would scream if I put mealies in the blender, so I would probably have to resort to that. Although I would probably be buying a new knife :D

I used scissors, but I washed them very well afterwards :main_yes: It really doesn't work all that well since they don't get crushed up (we cut up some mealies and threw them in there too).. but so now we have slurry that has big blobs of worms in it LOL.. the blobs clog up my syringe if they are too big, and the geckos don't seem to really like the big chunks either :main_laugh:
