small cut on geckos foot?

i had no idea what was on my geckos foot, i dont know how long its been there but it cant be too long, but i saw dark red on his foot so i cleaned it with a q tip and put his foot in water for a little bit and theres a cut on his toe, what do i do? i havent had any issues with my geckos so i dont really know what to do. will it get infected and how long will it take to heal?? please let me know asap

As long as the floor of the cage doesn't have any dirt or particles (like sand or eco earth) and you keep an eye on it to be sure it's not swelling or getting red streaks, it will more than likely be fine. My geckos have healed well from much worse injuries. It's possible that the gecko just has an abrasion from pulling off the shed with its teeth.
