I have noticed a smell coming from my viv. I never leave crickets in over night and i change the one layer of paper towel he has over the tile in the hot end every other day (his pooping end) so shere is the small coming from?
Is it the mealworm dish? I've never thought about that before but i'm now thinking after reading a few posts that it must be!? Am i right?
If so would it matter if i take it out? Perhaps put it in there over night say every other night or something. He dosn't eat mealies anyway (perhaps 1 or 2 every other day) so could i just take it out alltogether? He loves his big crickets.

Sniff the mealworm dish and see. I have a few cages, one in particular, that gets smelly from poop. For some reason that cage doesn't ventilate well and the residual poop odors don't go away.

When is the last time you actually cleaned the whole cage? Once a month I completely take everything out of the tank, wash the hides, bowls, and carpet then wash out the tank with hot soapy water to get rid of any bacteria or anything else smelling it up. Try that maybe??
