i kno theres alot of stuff thats now know, but i just have one question. i hatched out a blazing blizzard, that may possably be a snake eye. if i breed her back to her father will that up my chances of getting the blizzard eclips/snake eye? or that still isnt even sure yet?
thanks guys

As far as my breedings have gone, even non snake eye offspring sired by snake eye parents will throw them. I definitely think you'll get them...

but that is from a normal blizzard het nothing. solid black eyes and partial black eyes in blizzards is common. it is not proven to be genetic in nature just that they will throw them.

wait im confused about what you are talkn about robin. the blazing blizzard i hatched out is deff snake eyed, and ill get a picture a lil later tonight. but she came from a blazing blizzardXalbino het blazing blizzard. so im just thinking that if i breed her back to the father, i might be able to get more snake eyes. and my female isnt the first snake eyed blazing blizzard, ive seen them befor. infact i almost bought a male snake eyed blazing last year.

Id breed back to the father, try to prove out how the genetics work. You obviously cant prove it out yourself, but you can post your findings, along with others on this project, and see if we can come up with a hypothesis as a group

i am saying if it is common in normal blizzards it could some how pass to the blazings however if the trempers are from a raptor line somehow even far off, the eclipse or snake eyes could come from that, i mean since no one has actually figured out the genetics on the eye thingie.

oo ok, sorry robin, i donno how i did it but i thought you were trying to say blazing blizzards couldnt have the snake eye because its only in normal blizzards. i got a little confused. but, no there not even closely related to the raptor line. both blazing blizzard, and het came from vms, and theyre not working with rapters at all.

understtod but lets say some tremper they got (possibly fresh breeding stock) were from the original raptor project but it was not disclosed. contact sean at VMS and ask him if he has hatched out any like this and if so ask him what he thinks it is.

Just thought Id point out:

Raptor Leopard Gecko (Eublepharis macularius) Essentially Eclipse-Eyed Sunglows, although the originator of these is either unclear or uncertain about their genetic makeup. The best have solid red eyes, bright orange-yellow body coloration and heavy orange on the tails. A unique look!
Status: Regular breeders, producing annually.
Care Sheet: Available
Additional Photos:
Pricing: $200-450, based on quality of appearance.
Current Availability: Click here to see Leopard geckos for sale.

But I doubt they bred them into their blazing line.... yet. Their BB line is from before the raptors, so even if the trempers they used to start their blazing line came from RT, it was years before his eclipse discovery. And vms blazings throw banded babies when outbred, so no evidence of patternless stripe bloodlines either. Im currently working with a mix of Alex Hue, VMS, and petsmart blazings and hets. (1 BB from AH, 4 (66%)hets from VMS that im proving out one is proven DH one is proven at least het albino, and one BB from petsmart that came from C.R.A.P. last year.)

I believe that the snake eyed-ish trait you have is from the blizzard line. I really think we need to come up with a new name for blizzard eye traits to keep people from getting confused though...

Keep us posted on any eggs she lays. :main_yes:

Raptor Project Leopard Geckos
We're producing a few Raptors this year, but we're actually using most of our adults in crosses to other mutations. We'll be listing not only pure Raptors here, but many heterozygous offspring from these crosses as well. Click here to learn more/see adults.Tremper Albino, 100% het Eclipse (Raptor) and Blizzard

Tremper Albino, 100% het Eclipse (Raptor) and Blizzard

G-Q002

I still dont think yours came from a raptor line though.

But look at G-Q001, Snake eyed blazing parent... Id say they have hatched them in the past as well and are trying to see if its the same "eclipse" gene as the raptors

ive been on vacation the past week, and i still am, so i prob wont answer any more till like monday. but any way, i got a response from VMS and they said theyve been using the same tremper line to make the blazings since befor the raptors were reliased to the public.

Did you ask them if their "eclipse" eyed blazings X raptors resulted in any "eclipsed" type eyes?

Well, I guess that proves that the two eye genes are different. Which gives even more credibility to 420's theory regarding Xanthics (that they are bliz-eclipse, RT eclipse, blazing blizzards)
