Yeah that's gotta suck... here nothing shuts down until 40+ mph winds, and 3 feet of snow on the ground with lake effects or noreasters on the way. They haven't cancelled 1 day of school yet this season and believe me they had plenty of reasons to, and one day where the power went out early a.m they just did a 2 hour delay.

All that snow was crazy. We got a foot here and school was out for two days. The winds were horrible.

I love your house! It's really nice.

You guys have it easy! I'm with Kel on this one. Being in SW Pennsylvania we literally need like 3+ feet of snow or a ridiculous amount of ice for any kind of cancellation. Last winter we got 3 storms in a row that all deposited about 2-3 feet of that awful white stuff. WORST WINTER EVER!!! This year is just constant though and so cold too. I'd gladly take what you guys down in Texas got over this!

Those are amazing pictures, Shawn! I'm so sick of all this crazy weather. We haven't gotten snow but the freeways keep icing. Missed Flogging Molly last night because we couldn't get there and school has been canceled twice in the last week or so. Plus, UPS is days behind on ground shipments we're waiting on. I hate this winter!

And I feel for all you crazy people up North, I could never live anywhere with that much snow! The difference here is that we don't have snow plows or salt trucks and all of our freeways are elevated. The cities literally shut down if there's any type of precipitation and it gets below freezing. :( Come on Spring!!

I'm sure you guys would. "Back home" in Indiana, things are equally miserable.

I believe they said the record length of time for sub-freezing temperatures in San Antonio is 108 hours, but golly the 60+ hours we experienced last week seemed to last foreverrrrrrrr. Don't spread this around, cause I don't want people taking it out on me physically, but I'm convinced that the reason why Texas got so cold this winter is because I was followed. Sorry, Mel! :main_laugh:
